Healthy Granola Recipe

So theres all this hype about acai bowls but I think when I go to buy granola, there aren’t many brands that sell it for me! However, there are many food/recipe websites out there, such as the fabulous Madeleine Shaw and Deliciously Ella who have shared with us their healthy and nourishing granola recipes which I do like! (Click on the links to find out their healthy granola recipes!)

Here is a healthy granola recipe I wanted to share with you, which will make your acai bowls even more scrumptious! Or have the granola as a meal and add whatever toppings you fancy such as fruit, nut butter, yoghurt!

Crunchy Buckwheat Granola

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup whole raw almonds (or any nuts you like)
  • 3/4 cup raw buckwheat
  • 3/4 cup raw sunflower seeds
  • 3/4 cup coconut (optional)
  • 1/4 cup canola oil (or coconut oil)
  • 1/4 cup honey (or a mixture of honey and maple syrup)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cinammon
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Method

  • Add all ingredients to a bowl and mix together
  • Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour in a large metal bowl
  • Stir every 30 minutes
  • Add coconut just before the granola is finished cooking
  • Colour should be golden brown
  • Remove from oven
  • Allow to cool before serving and/or placing in a container
  • ENJOY!

 

PS. Don’t forget to add other toppings to your acai bowl such as, your favourite fruit, chia seeds, cocoa nibs, nut butter, whatever you fancy!
